‘One Tree Hill’s’ Final Season ‘Will Be Dark,’ Says Creator Mark Schwahn

By Rebecca Ford, The Hollywood Reporter

After nine years and more than 170 episodes, One Tree Hill begins its ninth and final season (really this time!) on Wednesday night.

One Tree Hill’s creator Mark Schwahn has said that the last 13 episodes “will be dark” compared to the most recent seasons of the CW drama.

The first few minutes of the first episode seem to prove him right. The characters are each thrown into what looks like hell and havoc. There’s fighting and crying, a burning building and Haley standing in the morgue over a dead body.

‘Sons of Anarchy’ Creator Kurt Sutter on Season 4’s Bold Finale and Season 5 Plans

Sons of Anarchy, FX’s hit drama about a California motorcycle club, wrapped up its fourth season on Tuesday. The finale ended what has arguably been the best season for the drama, helmed by Kurt Sutter.

“My sense for next season is that it will be a slower boil,” Sutter told THR. “This season, everyone was sort of out of breath at the end of every episode, and my sense is that next season that won’t be the case.”

Not only did she star in this summer’s dark thriller Drive and do a play in New York, but she also had time to star in a video game: Need for Speed The Run.

Hendricks stars in the game as Sam Harper, a wealthy woman who manages the best drivers in the cutthroat world of outlaw street racing. She teams up with a young driver, Jack Rourke (Sean FarisThe Vampire Diaries), for a cross-country race for a $25 million prize.

“She’s got a lot of money riding on it, but she’s also sort of protecting him because he’s from the old hood” Hendricks said of her character in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
